More About Nathan

Faith, Family, and Service

During my tenure as an Albertville City Councilman, I have had the privilege of getting to know many of you in our community. For those of you I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Nathan Broadhurst and my wife Callie and I have been married since 2016. We have 5 children - Will, Jake, Sarah, Madi and Luke. We stay busy with our kids' activities such as band, show choir, golf, bass fishing, gymnastics, dance, and more. We are partners at LifePoint church in Albertville, and we enjoy being involved in our community.

I was born in Athens, the third of six children, to Mike and Pat Broadhurst. I was active in church and Boy Scouts growing up and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout when I was sixteen. I was a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow, a fraternal order of Scouting. I was also a member of the Athens Golden Eagle Marching Band throughout high school and graduated from Athens High School in 2001. I then attended the University of Alabama and marched in the Million Dollar band.

I began a career in sales for Orkin in 2003, and after moving to Albertville in 2004, I began a career in the insurance industry, working for American General Life & Accident. I joined Farmers Insurance in 2007 where I progressed from Producer to Agency Owner within eight years. I have owned my agency with Farmers for six years, winning multiple production awards for business and life insurance. I'm a past member of the Lake Guntersville Chamber of Commerce and a current member of the Albertville Chamber of Commerce. I have also been a member of the Albertville Rotary Club since 2010.

I was appointed to Place 5 on the Albertville City Council in May 2010. After completing the remainder of that term, I was the only member of the administration to win re-election in 2012. The incoming council members unanimously selected me to serve as Council President. I ran without opposition in 2016 and again in 2020. In 2015, I was selected as The Sand Mountain Reporter Reader's Choice for Best City Council Member. During my tenure, I have earned the Certified Municipal Official designation for the Alabama League of Municipalities through many classes ranging from budget management to economic development.

I strive to live my life focused on core principles of faith in God, devotion to family, and service to others. These ideals inform my decisions and guide my actions, and although I fail to live up to them at times just as we all do, I am confident that in seeking and striving there is hope and promise for the future.

As I look ahead to what’s next for me and my family, I am filled with optimism and excitement. In the coming months and years our life will be full of many new adventures and opportunities. We will continue to find ways to partner with our church family volunteering, supporting missions, and building community. Our family will experience high school and preschool graduations; first days of kindergarten, college, and middle school; new activities, sports, and performing arts, and of course family vacations and fun. All the while working to expand my business by empowering others to lead the way to new heights of success through serving our clients.

It will be these values of faith, family, and service that support, prepare and guide me and my family, moving forward with our community as your next Marshall County Commission Chairman.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and the issues I stand for. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. I truly appreciate your support and ask for your vote May 24th in the Republican primary.
